Leafleting outside Chadwell Primary today

Last night at the Redbridge Council cabinet, Cllr Athwal, the Leader of the Council agreed to my request to consider following the example of Hackney Council and start no-idling zones along with signs stating £80 enforcement fines. Cllr Athwal said he would get back to me by the 22nd December with a decision. A recording of what was said is at my Facebook page andywalker19 and my twitter @andywalker1945. I leafleted outside Chadwell School this morning seeking support.

Dear Parents

Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers & No-Idling Zones

Last night at the Redbridge Council cabinet, Cllr Athwal, the Leader of the Council agreed to my request to consider following the example of Hackney Council and start no-idling zones along with signs stating £80 enforcement fines. Cllr Athwal said he would get back to me by the 22nd December with a decision. A recording of what was said is at my Facebook page andywalker19 and my twitter @andywalker1945

Anti-idling zones outside schools reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Cllr Athwal is more likely to agree to my request if parents write to him at jas.athwal@redbridge.gov.uk

The Council setting up no-idling zones outside schools close to Tescos to reduce pollution will make it more difficult for Cllrs to vote for the application for the Toxic Towers in the new year. This is because no-idling zones highlight the importance of pollution and so put pressure on Cllrs to be consistent on the issue and stop the Tesco application which will increase pollution for residents.

Reclaim Redbridge is a cross party residents’ group which is campaigning against the Tesco Toxic Towers, you can get updates by downloading Telegram and a QR reader at the code below.
