Writing to elected representatives to speak at a public meeting
Email sent earlier today to Sam Tarry MP, Keith Prince AM, Cllr Littlewood & Goodmayes Cllrs
Dear All
My understating of the timing of a legal challenge to the Tesco application which was heard on the 27th May is as follows:
- planning permission has been granted subject to a s. 106 agreement
- therefore, a decision notice (which starts the six-week clock ticking for a judicial review) has not been issued yet
- the decision may still be called-in by the Mayor (if it is, there’ll be further delays to any final decision
You might agree that the best tactic now is for us to lobby the Mayor for the decision to be called in.
There is a spectrum of opinion in our campaign from those of us who see the site as unsuitable to human habitation to those wanting the development, but seeking a deferment until an extra slip road is considered as set out on the night on behalf of Goodmayes Cllrs by Neil. We all appear to want to further our cause by having the Mayor call in the application.
I would be grateful if you could let me know if you would like to speak at a public meeting campaigning for the application to be called in by the Mayor.
I have blind copied in other campaign members. I will try and find a non-party chair for the meeting. Time is pressing so I suggest either the 19th,20th or 21st June. Should Sam agree to speak I suggest we follow his lead for a date.
Regards
Andy
