Tesco Store Manager
Goodmayes Extra Store
Dear Store Manager
Permission for a photo shoot on Saturday 16th July at 11am
I am part of a team campaigning against what we term the Tesco Toxic
Towers, the proposed High Rise development at your site. On the 11th
July our lawyers lodged an application for judicial review at the High Court to
stop the development going ahead.
I would be grateful if you could allow us to meet by the store
entrance for around 10-15 minutes this Saturday July 16th am to help fund raise for our campaign.
There is a petition on line with more than 3,000 signatures which
suggests significant opposition to the proposal among your customers.
The local NHS trust has provided information listing 55 child deaths
and hundreds of hospital admissions for diseases linked to air pollution for
three boroughs locally. My concern is that no attempt has been made by the
Council to quantify the real risk of living beside a busy polluting High Road and
Crossrail. By this I mean looking at child hospital admission and death statistics
in the infill between the High Road and Crossrail.
Air filters have been proposed at locations most exposed to pollution,
but no specification of the air filters has been published or a maintenance
schedule provided.
The wording on the banner reads
Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers
Support the Kids’ Lives Matter Legal Challenge
www.crowdjustice.com/case/stop-the-tesco-toxic-towers
I hope to hear from you soon.
Regards
Andy Walker
