Writing to Councillors re going to 10 Downing Street on 28th October

This photo is from the presentation when the Tesco Toxic Towers was passed by Councillors.

All the flats facing the High Road have "mechanical ventilation" but not the school. This discrepancy is the features in emails sent to Havering and Redbridge Councillors copied below:

Dear Councillors

1) Keith Prince Attending 10 Downing Street on the 28th October

I am delighted to report that Keith Prince will be one of six people handing in a letter in 10 Downing Street on the 28th October at 4pm. It would be be great if we great if we could find another five elected representatives on a cross party basis to support Keith along with MPs to meet us on the day along with campaign supporters for a photos at the gates

2) Embargoed letter

I am canvassing support for a letter signed by elected representatives to be sent broadsheets as soon as possible in the hope one of the papers will agree to publish the letter on the 28th October. If none of them agree to publish hopefully the Recorder will publish.

First draft of letter below:

Dear Letters Editor

We are concerned that High Rise Towers are being planned/built across London so close to busy roads that mechanical ventilation is required to protect residents. For example one development at a Tesco Site in East London has mechanical ventilation planned to the seventh floor for flats facing onto a High road. However, the proposed primary school, also facing the High Road does not have mechanical ventilation which beggars belief.

We call upon the GLA to review its housing policy so that Londoners in new housing will not have to walk out of the their front doors into an environment that is damaging to their health. ENDs Draft

It would be great if you could contact me at your earliest convenience so you wish to attend on the 28th or sign the proposed letter.

Regards

Andy
