A step forward for our campaign: Mayor Khan to discuss Tesco Toxic Towers with Keith Prince
Delighted to report a step forward for our campaign yesterday. Following my question to Mayor Khan, the Mayor said he would discuss the issue with Keith Prince.
Before I asked my question the Mayor had talked about the importance of playgrounds not being by busy roads, and how pollution meant the poorest were the most likely to suffer as a consequence of air pollution.
I welcomed the Mayor's commitment to playgrounds not being by busy roads and so asked him to welcome Keith Prince AM, RoseMary Warrington of the Green Party and Ashburn Holder going to 10 Downing Street earlier this week about the school at the Tesco Toxic Towers.
My hope is that the Mayor will ask his lawyers that at the very least he would prefer that the proposed school has the best quality air filters and the playground is moved off the roof into the development and so away from the road.
Although it would be best if the school were sited inside the development and so shielded from the road.
I have not sought legal advice on what would happen if the Mayor were to make submission to court before the hearing but it seems bound to be very helpful to us because the Mayor is an interested party to the judicial review.
