Dear
Residents
Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers!
Fund raising meal on 14th November at 7pm
Chapters restaurant on Goodmayes High Road
The Tesco Toxic Towers development is a risk to children’s
health. The school which is planned in
the development faces the busy, high-polluting road. The flats adjacent to the school have air
quality filters planned to the seventh floor, but no filters are planned for
the school. The school playground is on the roof, where, of course, no filters
are available and exercise is a trigger for children suffering from asthma. Our campaign aims to quash the planning
application, with the help of Hodge Allen, the firm who represented the family
of the late Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah, the first child to die of air pollution
listed on her death certificate in the UK.
We now need to persuade the High Court to grant permission for hearing
in the New Year.
The
meal at Chapters will help to raise funds for this. The meal costs £10, with drinks extra. Contact Andy for a ticket.

Public Meeting Tuesday 8th November 8pm Methodist
Church Hall, Percy Road IG3 8UA
Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers
The
main business is to make sure we fill the restaurant on the 14th
November
Another
key item is to how best to persuade Sam Tarry MP to back the judicial review.
The
campaign team went to 10 Downing Street on 31st October to deliver a
letter asking the Prime Minister to intervene. The photos are at blog, it was a
cross party team with the Conservatives Keith Prince AM, Raj Forhad, Ashburn
Holder of the Liberal Democrats and RoseMary Warrington from the Green Party.
We also had Bob Archer, the secretary of Redbridge Trades Union Council in
support and Sajida Ugradar from Redbridge Independents.
High Court Hearing on 29th November 2022
We have an hour and half hearing at the
High Court on the 29th seeking permission for a full hearing in the
new year. If you can be there, it will be much appreciated. Our barrister will
claim community support for our campaign, so to make this claim credible it will
be helpful to have support in person on the day.
Regards
Andy
