A remarkable day in court yesterday
Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday. Your support in person meant a lot to me.
After more than two hours of legal arguments, Justice
Holgate made his judgment against us and I immediately went out to go the toilet.
I got lost in the huge court building and came back 10 minutes later to find to
my surprise that the hearing was still ongoing. These are the notes that I took
on my computer during my return
“Fourth
option is a new hearing
Says
Judge
I did ask
question when did it go before members.
“Case is
all officers report and whether members misled”
“Coming
to view that it should be re-argued” says Judge
Judge:
“You are missing point”
Overriding
Objective
IP says
should be reheard!!!!
Judge
says “highly unusual”
Adjourn
hearing until 1pm this Monday”
Recording a High Court hearing is banned, this seems wrong
to me as it is an obstacle to accurate reporting of what is said in court. So
the notes in bold above are the best I can do for now, I might order a
transcript of what was said, but I expect that will be expensive.
After barristers being involved for months, John Hunter, our
new barrister, wrote a supplementary skeleton for the hearing on the 16th
December focusing on the proposed primary school at the site. Redbridge did not
submit anything in response, but Celina Colquhoun, the Weston barrister did make a
response which included a reference to the GLA stage 2 report.
How the Judge understood these arguments is why the hearing will start again on Monday.
I will report back on Monday when I have a decision from the Judge. I am asking supporters not to attend on Monday. This is because as both the Judge and Celina Colquhoun want a re-hearing that seems the most likely thing to happen.
