Dear Residents
Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers!
There will be a permission hearing for judicial review at the High Court on the 14th February against the proposed High Rise development at the Goodmayes Tesco site.
The crowd funded claim concerns whether the Council was unlawful to grant permission for a primary school beside the busy polluting High Road without providing air filters to protect child health. The proposed flats adjacent to the school have filters to the seventh floor, so it is reasonable for the school children to have the same protection.
Councillor Athwal has instructed lawyers to try to keep a key document (Building Bulletin 101, which says Councils must consider air filters for new schools) out of the court bundle for the 14th. When challenged about this at meetings. Councillor Athwal either says he is defending the Council position or that the school won’t be built.
At a council meeting last night, I wanted to ask Councillor Athwal to re-consider and at least allow BB Bulletin 101 into the court bundle, but Councillor Athwal refused to let me finish my question. I hope to be able to raise the subject tonight. Should you wish to get updates please join the WhatsApp group by going to chat.whatsapp.com/DEzr4WGkkr9Czy76oBZd70.
