Dear
Residents
Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers!
Photo shoot on Sunday 15th January outside the Goodmayes
Tesco Store at 3.45pm assemble for 4pm photo – Council must not suppress key
document from Court Bundle!
There
will be a High Court hearing seeking permission for our judicial review to
appeal later this month or next.
An
issue will be whether the proposed school at the development facing the polluting
High Road should have had air filters to protect children from the toxic air
pollution. The planned flats adjacent to the school are planned to have air
filters to protect residents so it is a mystery why the school children are not
similarly protected.
I
was informed yesterday that Redbridge Council are seeking to block Building
Bulletin 101 going into the court bundle. This document is government guidance
on ventilation for schools, which says developers must consider ventilation for
schools.
It
will be helpful to our cause if we can get it into the bundle.
As
well as the document issue the photoshoot is also seeking to persuade Tesco, who
are part funding the school, to intervene by providing air filters and instead
place the school into the development.
This
newsletter can be shared online.
House price drop – Research sponsored by Barratt homes
where the London School of Economics found controversial developments led to house
price drops in nearby areas providing another motive to join to support the campaign.
