Dear Residents

Residents public meeting: 8pm Monday 15th April 2024 at Methodist Church Hall, Percy Road IG3 8DQ: Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers:

We are told the High Rises going up across London will benefit the most vulnerable in our community. So I asked this question at a planning committee meeting of 25th March.

"According to Shelter housing overcrowding is a criminal offence and that "Local authorities have a general duty to enforce the overcrowding provisions" so can the chair of the committee tell me if this committee gets updates on whether the significant number of developments, primarily which are high rise, is reducing this offence in the borough?"

The planning committee were given three days’ notice of this question, but refused to answer it on the night, saying instead that they would get back to me. I have put in a freedom of information request and will get back in due course.

Hotel in new plan for Tesco site

The provisional plan for the Tesco store has substituted the primary school with a hotel. The plans are available at the blog above.

The above and other issues will be discussed at the meeting. Donations can be made at gofund.me/8365c858 or scan  for legal advice about the merits of a second judicial review.A qr code on a white background
