Stop the Tesco Toxic Towers: Update on Proposed Judicial Review

I quote from a freedom of information request which contains a comment from the local NHS management about the impact of the Tesco development:

Despite acknowledging this high baseline pressure, the ES does not propose any mitigation for primary care impacts. While it references anticipated planning obligations “to relevant social infrastructure,” no provision is made for health. Based on the proposed development of 1,379 homes, local patient numbers would rise considerably, increasing the average GP-to-patient ratio across local practices to approximately 1:4,211. This represents a clear and material worsening of access to health services.” (my emphasis) ENDS quote

The GP royal college report an English ratio of 1 GP to 2,247 patients at August 2025. Our projected ratio of 1 GP to 4,211 shows how badly Labour is proposing to treat residents. (see rcgp.org.uk/representing-you/key-statistics-insights )

Unless Labour ask Tesco and Weston Homes to change the plan, the campaign team will seek legal opinion as whether Labour's refusal to insist on a GP facilty on the site is so perverse as to allow a credible judicial review challenge.

We need to reach £17,000 to seek the merits of a Judicial Review. Over 50 residents have contributed so far. The combination of cash given to me on the doorstep and donations via the site below is £3258.64.

The freedom of information request can be found by googling: Andy Walker What to they know Tesco November 2025. My YouTube message asking Wes Streeting to intervene went up earlier today at

I will be going to door to door with a jar of chocolates as a fundraiser. For £5 a ticket you win the chocolates if you guess the number correctly. Should there be a tie, please supply the weight of the jar with the chocolates in it in grams. I video broadcast the winner on Facebook on Monday 15th December at 8pm.
